Daniel Tosh rape joke apology: Daniel Tosh takes to Twitter after petitions spread to cancel Tosh.0

After being called out for a joke about rape, Daniel Tosh has taken to Twitter to apologize.

During a recent performance, a female audience member felt Tosh went a little too far, saying " Tosh (started) making some very generalizing, declarative statements about rape jokes always being funny, how can a rape joke not be funny, rape is hilarious," according to the New York Daily News.

The New York Daily News reported that the woman also said, "After I call out to him, Tosh paused for a moment. Then, he says, 'Wouldn't it be funny if that girl got raped by like, 5 guys right now? Like right now? What if a bunch of guys just raped her…'"

Soon after, the woman took to Tumblr with her complaint and petitions to get his Comedy Central show, "Tosh.0" canceled spread.

On Twitter, Tosh wrote, "all the out of context misquotes aside, i'd like to sincerely apologize...the point i was making before i was heckled is there are awful things in the world but you can still make jokes about them."
