The latest forecast track has the Treasure Coast out of Tropical Storm Isaac's error cone.
Models for Tropical Storm Isaac are coming into better agreement of a track into the Keys and then into the Gulf of Mexico.
It will continue to move in a west-northwesterly direction for the next 48 hours, possibly become a hurricane in the northern Gulf.
The next 48 hours are extremely important for Isaac. Today it will interact with the island of Hispaniola -- an island that we have seen kill Category 2 hurricanes over the past few years.
The one thing that Isaac has going for it is its size, and that may be the key to its survival.
At 11 p.m., the center of Isaac continued to move west-northwest near 18 mph with max winds at 45 mph.
The center of Isaac is forecast to be near the south coast of the Dominican Republic and Haiti today.
A tropical storm warning was issued for southeastern Bahamas and some Cuban provinces.
Isaac is expected to strengthen a little bit before hitting Hispaniola, but it doesn't look like there is enough time for it to become a hurricane.
The high terrain of Hispaniola and Cuba will tear up the storm and weaken it. It will have a chance to re-strengthen again as it approaches Key West on Sunday.
Even though the storm will pass to our south and west, we will still see some effects from the storm, gusty winds and some rain squalls. Southeast Florida would see the worst weather Sunday night and Monday.
It looks unlikely our area will get hurricane force winds, and less likely tropical storm force winds. Possibly only in gusts.
Tropical Storm Joyce has been downgraded to a tropical depression.
The two storms have very different tracks. Joyce is curving northwest and then north out into the open Atlantic Ocean.
There is another wave coming off the coast of Africa that has the possibility to develop in about three to four days.
