Tropical Depression 9 has been upgraded to Tropical Storm Isaac.
It is speeding toward the Caribbean at about 17 mph and packing 40 mph winds. It is expected to slow down through the week.
The current forecast track has the storm moving just south of Puerto Rico and and working toward Cuba.
South Florida is on the edge of the error cone.
If it impacts our weather, as it stands now it would be late Sunday or sometime Monday.
The newest forecast shows a little less strengthening than the previous advisory from the National Hurricane Center.
If the storm interacts with Hispaniola and Cuba, it could weaken.
It is quite possible that South Florida will be in the forecast zone when the next advisory is posted.
