Ernesto is moving quickly westward at 22 miles per hour.
The Jamaican government has issued a tropical storm warning for the island nation.
Once the storm gets into the western Caribbean, atmospheric conditions should become more favorable for strengthening early next week, at which time Ernesto is forecasted to become a hurricane before making landfall around the Yucatan.
The latest forecast track anticipates Ernesto will stay south of South Florida, but we will continue to monitor.
We also have Tropical Storm Florence in the far Eastern Atlantic, no threat to land. Winds have been bumped up to 60 mph and the storm is moving west-northwest at 15 mph. Florence is forecasted to strengthen a bit before dying out in about five days due to strong shear.
