NEW YORK - Video posted online shows a New York reporter being swept away by a wave while covering Hurricane Irene.
“Hey everyone. Don't worry! We are being safe. The boardwalk is breaking though as the waves come crashing through,” posted News 12 Long Island’s Erin Colton on her Facebook page.
Colton was doing a live report on the Atlantic coast as a part of her station’s hurricane coverage when the surge of water knocked her down.
In the video, you can see Colton taking extreme measures to keep the microphone above water – and it looks like she succeeded.
The video of her incident was aired on the CBS Evening News.
