Tropical Storm Chris formed Tuesday afternoon, far from land.
The National Weather Service said Chris developed well southeast of the Canadian Maritimes.
It's currently about 560 miles south, southwest of Cape Race, Newfoundland.
Chris is packing 45 mph winds.
No watches or warnings are in effect and the storm is no threat to land.
