We have Tropical Storm Sandy in the Caribbean and Tropical Depression 19 in the Central Atlantic.

Sandy has winds at 45 mph and is stationary well south of Jamaica. A tropical storm watch is in effect for Jamaica and Haiti. Its forecast to move into the Bahamas on Friday and Saturday. Florida is not in the error cone, but gusty winds are possible here later in the week.

The system will produce heavy rains over Jamaica, Cuba and Hispaniola over the next few days and trigger dangerous mudslides in mountainous areas.

The National Hurricane Center also is monitoring Tropical Depression 19. Winds are 35mph and it is moving North at 9mph. It is forecast to become Tropical Storm Tony by Tuesday. It is well Northeast of the Leeward Islands. It should remain out in the Atlantic all week.
