JUPITER, Fla. - Michael Lipim and Shane McHugh are both college lacrosse players. They were teammates and good friends at St. Andrew's, but their path to the sport was very different.
"I actually didn't even know what it was until I went to St. Andrew's," said McHugh. "I started playing my freshmen year. I remember my first practice like it was yesterday, just a lot of hard work, and I was lucky enough to play in college."
"I really just loved running, I never was a huge fan of soccer. A lot of soccer guys like to run and be conditioned," said Lipin. "This physicality of the game and just the constant back and forth really just attracted me to it."
On Friday, the two were back home helping the next generation of lacrosse players in Palm Beach County, at the annual holiday camp presented by Maverik Lacrosse at Jupiter Lighthouse Park.
With hundreds of kids participating in this year's camp, the sport of lacrosse has grown tremendously.
The lacrosse camp ends on Saturday, December 31st.
