Today we celebrate what we love, SURFING! It's a time for surfers all around the world to get together and rejoice the wonder that is surfing. Gliding down mother nature's purest for of energy, the swell.
"Now in its eighth year, ISD has grown to over 200 separate events in over 25 different countries. From paddle-outs to beach clean-ups, surf movie nights to mangrove restorations, surfers across the world will be coming together on June 20th 2012 to both celebrate the sport of surfing, and to give something back to the oceans, waves and beaches that give us all so much." -- Surfrider Foundation ISD site .
Besides being able to celebrate the day with actual surfing (we have waves for the first time since it's inception!), our area is celebrating with a beach clean-up at 7:30am at Clarke Beach in Palm Beach.
Plus a night time bash at the local surf hangout, LONGBOARDS at 519 Clematis street in downtown west palm.
Money collected go to our local Surfrider Foundation.
