The Palm Beach County Surfing History Project's exhibit at the Schoolhouse Children's Museum in Boynton has now moved up to north county this weekend, just in time for "Turtle-Fest". Dave McClymont, & the good people at the Loggerhead Marinelife Center do a phenomenal job, and have been kind enough to allow us a a room for 1-2 months (tbd) to display the exhibit.
Loggerhead Marinelife Center is located at 14200 U.S. Highway One, Juno Beach FL 33408. (561) 627-8280
The exhibit displays; boards, pictures, & memorabilia of Surfing in PBC, from the '30s & 40's to the present day. This exhibit will be a "living entity" in that they will rotate boards, pictures ect... to keep it fresh. So visit it often!
The SHP's mission statement is to; Preserve, document, & display surfing in Palm Beach County.
The exhibit has been more of a traveling exhibit over the past year moving from Tequesta, Stuart, Palm Beach Gardens, Boynton Beach, and now Juno. Their ultimate goal would be to secure a permanent location to display the priceless surf memorabilia for all to see. If you can help, contact Bill Keeton , Corky Roche , or Tom Warnke .
