Stanwood, WA - CNN

A father and son took a stroll on the beach and had a close encounter with a strange creature.

Sherman Pike and his son Oliver found a monster jellyfish washed up on the shore.
They say its a Lion's Mane Jellyfish and its over four feet across!
The Pikes say they've seen plenty of jellyfish in and around the Puget Sound but have never seen one like this on the beach.

"We were just stunned when we saw it at first. All the colors and coming out of the center of it looks like sort of armored plates. They're something else entirely but really like just awesome to see." Sherman Pike said.

The jellyfish washed back out into the sound and is no longer where the Pike's found it.
