It is now a crime to kill tiger and hammerhead sharks in the waters off Florida.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission voted to prohibit killing tiger sharks and three speciesof hammerhead Wednesday.
The new measures take effect the first of the year.
 These sharks can still be caught and released in state waters and can be taken in  federal waters.
