The Loggerhead Marinelife Center now has its first batch of sea turtle hatchlings of this season.
The baby turtles need a little extra help making the trek to the ocean.
Upon arrival the hatchlings are examined to see if they're strong enough to be released. If not, they'll stay at the Marinelife Center until they can be safely released into the weed line, anywhere from 5 to 15 miles offshore.
That's where the young turtles live for the first several years of their lives.
