Ray Allen Miami Heat: Allen thanks Boston Celtics fans in full-page ad

So a week after leaving the Boston Celtics for the Miami Heat, Allen took out a full-page advertisement in Sunday's Boston Globe to express his appreciation for his tenure in Boston.

The ad read:

"Dear Celtics fans,

For the past five years, my family and I took great pride in calling Boston home. We have loved living in this city, being members of the Celtics family and being part of your community. These memories will be cherished forever.

From my heart,

THANK YOU Boston for this incredible journey.

Allen signed Wednesday with the Heat for half of what the Celtics were offering, after he had lost his starting job last season to Avery Bradley and then was threatened with additional loss of playing time with Boston's addition of free-agent guard Jason Terry.

He will wear No. 34 for the Heat this season, the number he previously had worn for the Seattle SuperSonics and Milwaukee Bucks before joining the Celtics.
