NEW YORK (AP) — NBC says it will collaborate with Facebook for new features designed to promote the upcoming Olympics in London with social media users.

The companies said Wednesday that an NBC Olympics page on Facebook will feature exclusive content and images. A Facebook timeline app by NBC Olympics will allow Facebook users to share material from the contests with their friends.

NBC will also make use of Facebook's Talk Meter, which reveals what Olympic events or athletes are being talked about online.

Facebook said it will work with NBC to make social media segments that will appear on telecasts of the network and its cable partners.
