CHARLOTTE COUNTY, Fla. - Tampa Bay Rays player Matthew Bush was arrested after crashing into a 72-year-old motorcyclist and fleeing the accident in Charlotte County Thursday morning, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

The 26-year-old pitcher and the victim, Anthony Tuffano, were driving south on the inside left lane of US 41/SR 45 approaching Murdock Circle just after 5:00 a.m.

Bush hit the back of the Tuffano’s motorcycle, ejecting him from the vehicle.

The victim was taken to Lee Memorial Hospital.

Bush fled the accident and headed south, then north on US 41.

He was later found traveling south on Toledo Blade Boulevard. Officers from multiple agencies stopped Bush and he was placed under arrest. No word yet on the victim’s condition.

 Bush was taken to Charlotte County Jail and charged with a DUI, fleeing a scene with serious injuries, driving with a suspended license, and property damages.
