BOCA RATON, Fla. - Boca Raton's Jaye Marie Green is on the fast track to the LPGA Tour.
The 17-year-old native of Boca Raton is currently ranked third in the Polo Golf standings among junior girls.
"I'm a really determined person, so like, if I mess up, I don't get down on myself, but I'm like, 'alright, seriously, you need to, like, work so hard,'" Green says.
Hard work does go a long way, but her coach says he saw Jaye Marie's athletic ability long before she took up golf six years ago.
According to Donnie Green, Jaye Marie was a "level five gymnast, she was really great in volleyball, won the state in that, and also, soccer, leading scorer in soccer, so she was an athlete before she ever came to me anyway."
Donnie Green is more than just Jaye Marie's coach and caddy, he's also her father and best friend.
He says their faith has a lot to do with their relationship.
Jaye Marie and Donnie have a busy month of January planned, with three tournaments on their schedule. She hopes to turn pro in about a year.
