Honda Classic play begins, fan, businesses excited

Hundreds of fans turned out Thursday morning to see their favorite players tee off at the Honda Classic.

Organizers at PGA National expected the big crowd and were ready.

Kids waited around to get autographs from their favorite players and there was even an uninvited guest on the course. An Egyptian goose was spotted for the time this year.

Security was visible and  restaurants, vendors and sponsors hope to cash in as attendance grows through the weekend.

One couple attending the day's events said they have played the course and discovered that they make the same mistakes that the professionals do.

Organizers say, so far, the event is running smoothly.
