FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- The New England Patriots rallied for a big comeback in the third quarter of their game against San Francisco on Sunday. It was almost enough to defeat the 49ers, but not quite.
Midway through the third quarter, the Patriots were trailing the 49ers 31-3. The momentum shifted and later in the quarter they had tied the game up 31-31 with six minutes left to play.
In the end the 49ers won 41-34.
