The University of Florida sends a warning to students in an Italian study abroad program.

The gossip website TMZ reports that UF sent out an email giving its students an ultimatum: to stay away from the crew of Jersey Shore or face expulsion.

Then just a few hours after sending the email, the university had a change of heart.

Janine Sikes, UF Director of Public Affairs, released a statement saying "Generally speaking, students may participate in activities outside their Study Abroad program as long as they meet the academic and living requirements of that program."

The MTV reality show is currently filming in Italy.
