GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- Florida coach Will Muschamp has interviewed Jacksonville University coach and former Gators quarterback Kerwin Bell for the team's offensive coordinator job.
According to a person familiar with the meeting, Muschamp and Bell met on Jacksonville's campus Wednesday. The person requested anonymity because both coaches wanted to keep the interview private.
Muschamp has been looking for an offensive coordinator since Charlie Weis left last week to take the head coaching job at Kansas.
Bell has been Jacksonville's coach for five seasons, leading the Dolphins to a 36-21 record and two Pioneer Football League titles. His 2010 offense led Football Championship Subdivision teams at 486.3 yards per game.
Bell played at Florida from 1984 to 1987, finishing with 7,585 yards passing and 56 touchdowns.
