BOCA RATON, Fla. - Move over Orange Bowl, soon you won't be the only bowl game in town.
A post-season college football game is coming to Palm Beach County.
Beginning in 2014, three football conferences will compete to appear in the Boca Raton Bowl.
ESPN Regional Television announced the creation of the game Friday.
Teams from the American Athletic Conference, Conference USA and the Mid-American Conference will take part in the game which will be played at FAU Stadium.
"This is a great opportunity for the university. Not only the university but the city of Boca Raton, Palm Beach County and all of South Florida. It's going to be an amazing event," said FAU Interim President Dennis Crudele.
Either ESPN or ESPN2 will televise the game.
"We were able to sell this because we have venue, South Florida during that time, the weather is perfect. Also, we're very hopeful the day this bowl game will be on will be the only game on and it will help nationally to showcase not only Boca Raton but the FAU Stadium," Crudele said.
The game will be played in December, sometime before Christmas.
It's going to be an amazing event," Crudele said.
