BOCA RATON, Fla. - As the 2012 Allianz Championship gets set for another year in Boca Raton at The Old Course in Broken Sound, last year's Allianz Championship winner Tom Lehman returned to South Florida for Media Day.

"To be here today talking about the upcoming event kind of gets the season going for me," said Lehman. "I feel like now it's time to get back to business, focusing on golf again. I'm looking forward to this event in February."

An event that has seen it's winners go on to have great success during the Champions Tour.

"Our tag line this year is that, 'It all starts in Boca,'" said Ryan Dillion, the tournament director. "Our past two champions both were player of the year, both won the Swaub Cup and both got all the awards for the remainder of the year. So again, it all starts in Boca."

For Lehman, winning last year's tournament was special in more ways than one. Not only did it jump start a great run in 2011, Allianz Life is one of his main sponsors.

"I got into the hunt really wanting to win the tournament not just for myself, but for my partnership with Allianz as a way of saying how much I appreciate it. So there was a little bit of extra pressure, but also a little extra incentive," said Lehman.

This year's Allianz Championship will once again be free to the public. It will take place February 9th through the 12th.
