Tornado warning for SE Indian River, and NE St. Lucie County until 5:30 p.m.
.A TORNADO WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 530 PM EST FOR
SOUTHEASTERN INDIAN RIVER AND NORTH CENTRAL ST. LUCIE COUNTIES...
AT 516 PM EST...NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE METEOROLOGISTS CONTINUED TO
DETECT A TORNADO. THIS TORNADO WAS LOCATED NEAR INDRIO...MOVING
NORTHEAST AT 20 MPH. THIS STORM WILL MOVE OFF OF THE EAST COAST IN
THE NEAR FUTURE.
OTHER LOCATIONS IN THE WARNING INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO
MOORINGS OF VERO BEACH...SOUTH BEACH AND FLORALTON BEACH
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
THE SAFEST PLACE TO BE DURING A TORNADO IS IN A STRONG BUILDING ON
THE LOWEST FLOOR...IN AN INTERIOR ROOM SUCH AS A BATHROOM OR CLOSET.
KEEP AWAY FROM WINDOWS. GET UNDER A WORKBENCH OR OTHER PIECE OF
STURDY FURNITURE. USE BLANKETS OR PILLOWS TO COVER YOUR BODY.
EVACUATE MOBILE HOMES OR VEHICLES FOR MORE SUBSTANTIAL SHELTER.
