Ann Curry is negotiating a payment deal with NBC to exit from her co-hosting duties on the 'Today' Show, sources tell TMZ.
TMZ is reporting that Savannah Guthrie has already made a deal with NBC to succeed Curry as co-anchor with Matt Lauer. Zap2it is also reporting there is speculation that 'Today' family member Hoda Kotb could replace Curry.
Curry, who has been with "Today" since 1997, replaced Meredith Vieira last June as Lauer's partner. Lauer agreed to a long-term contract this spring to stay with the show.
It's still uncertain whether Curry, who has discovered a passion for international reporting in recent years, will remain with "Today," according to a source with knowledge of the show who spoke on condition of anonymity because the source was not authorized to speak on the matter. The New York Times first reported the discussions about the possible change.
TMZ reports Curry makes $10 million a year working at 'Today.' She is one year into a 3-year contract, and TMZ reports NBC does not want to pay her $20 million for the balance of the contract.
