(CNN) Two Western journalists were killed Wednesday in the Syrian city of Homs, opposition activists told CNN. The journalists were killed by shelling in the Baba Amr neighborhood of Homs, the activists said.

They are Marie Colvin, an American working for Britain's Sunday Times, and Remi Ochlik, a French photographer, according to reports from the Times and Reuters.
