Kids all over the world participated in the annual International Walk To School Day.
More than 30 schools across Palm Beach County participated in the event including Pine Grove Elementary, where students were joined by Safe Kids and Fed Ex, who sponsored the walk.
Boca Community High NJROTC, Delray Beach Police Officers, Community Partners and Community Service Council also walked with kids holding banners and signs, promoting safer walking environments.
Fed Ex brought carrier trucks to simulate driver visibility and pedestrian awareness.
According to World Health Organization, road traffic injuries are the second leading cause of death among children between 5 to 14.
More than 61 children are injured everyday severely enough to seek medical attention and almost 500 children are killed every year.
