When a man's out-of-control sled ride sent him into the icy waters of Jackson Lake outside Wrightwood, Calif., there was no shortage of people willing to try and pull him back to safety.
But one-by-one, many of those well-intentioned rescuers ended up in the same predicament, either falling into the same area where the first man did or creating a new hole in the thin ice.
Mickey Herman kept his camera running through the entire ordeal. Eventually everyone was pulled to safety within 10 minutes.
