As we transition from the wet season into the dry season, the Florida Forest Service is asking homeowners to prepare for an increase in wildfires.
Residents -- especially those in rural areas-- are urged to walk around their property and remove anything that will burn from rooftops, gutters and the sides of their homes. That includes pine needles, twigs, pond fronds, and the dried underbrush.
