CLEARWATER, Fla. (AP) -- The U.S. Coast Guard has rescued 13 people after their boat sank in the waters off Clearwater.
Luckily the family's boat sank close to the Coast Guard station at Sand Key on Saturday morning. Everyone onboard was also wearing a life jacket.
Rescuers escorted the boaters safely to shore.
The Tampa Bay Times ( http://www.ittybittyurl.com/1jPF ) reports the 20-foot boat was later towed back to shore. Florida wildlife officials are investigating what caused the boat to sink.
