Woman leaves 2 children at fire station

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) -- A woman left her 1-year-old daughter and 2-year-old son at the Fort Lauderdale Fire-Rescue headquarters after getting into an argument with her husband.

Authorities say the children were left with employees who were leaving the building about 4 p.m. Tuesday.

Fire-Rescue spokesman Matt Little says the children appeared to be healthy.

Fort Lauderdale police found the father Tuesday evening and allowed him to take them home.

The Florida Department of Children and Families is investigating.

Authorities have not decided whether the mother will be charged.
