NEAR JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A woman is spending the rest of her Florida vacation recovering from a shark attack.
It happened at Mickler's Landing southeast of Jacksonville.
Lifeguards say the woman was swimming in chest-deep water when a 3-to-4 foot shark chomped down on her arm.
"She came running at me, screaming. Then I looked down at her arm and it was shredded," said one witness.
"When we came out, I saw her arm was all bloody, so everyone was like, 'She must have gotten bitten by a shark.' And then all the lifeguards started, uh, blowin' their whistles and telling everyone to come back in," said another witness
The woman is listed in serious condition.
If it's confirmed that a shark bit the woman, it would be the third attack off of Florida's east coast in the last two months.
