'Very' drunk man dies after walking off dock and into water in Pinellas County

INDIAN ROCKS BEACH, Fla. — A Pinellas County Sheriff's Office report says a 'very' drunk man died after walking off a dock and into the water.

Authorities have not yet released the man's identity. Deputies did say he was not a Tampa Bay resident.

The report says the man was seen walking off the boardwalk area behind a hotel on Indian Rocks Beach early Sunday morning. He was described as 'very intoxicated.' As he approached a turn in the dock, he instead continued walking straight ahead and walked off the dock into the water.

Fire rescue workers pulled his fully clothed body from the water just after 6 a.m.

The investigation continues.
