MIAMI (AP) -- Authorities say two would-be robbers were fatally shot in separate incidents in South Florida.

Hollywood police say two hooded suspects broke into a gas station Monday night.

One of the attackers fired several times at the clerk, who returned fire and killed the gunman.

The second suspect drove away, but The Miami Herald ( http://hrld.us/WIeAXO ) reports that police arrested him a few blocks away.

He faces a felony murder charge.

Around the same time, Miami-Dade police say two men broke into an occupied home in North Miami-Dade.

One of the intruders was killed after exchanging fire with a man in the house.

The accomplice fled and remains at large.
