MIAMI (AP) -- Several crew members aboard an American Airlines Brazil-to-Miami flight were injured due to turbulence during the trip.
The Miami Herald reports ( http://bit.ly/xmuPgD ) that an airport spokeswoman says six crew members were injured when Flight 980 from Recife Airport in Brazil encountered turbulence en route to Miami International Airport.
The Sunday flight landed just after 6:30 p.m. EST. The passenger jet was carrying 136 passengers and nine crew members.
Miami airport spokeswoman Maria Levrant told the Herald Of the six, one was treated at the airport and five were taken to hospitals.
The extent of their injuries has not been released.
