A Florida woman who is suspected of beheading a pet rabbit in front of two children has been arrested.
The youngsters told investigators Tina Sandlin called them from their bedroom, held their family pet rabbit by the ears, and then "took a knife and cut the animal's head off in front of them."
According to a news release, the victims said the rabbit was kicking and there was "lots of blood."
The incident happened in mid-July. The youngsters said they did not immediately tell any family members. However, they eventually explained what happened to their father.
Deputies arrested Sandlin Monday. She was found hiding under a mobile home in Southport, deputies say.
According to the Bay County Sheriff's Office Sandlin, who is also known as Tina Michelle Byng, was charged with two counts of child abuse, cruelty to animals and resisting an officer without violence.
She was also wanted for violating probation in connection with a DUI conviction.
