ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) -- Church funeral services have ended for two St. Petersburg Police officers who were killed in the line of duty.
Thousands of law enforcement, firefighters and residents, along with Gov. Rick Scott, packed a Pinellas County church to Friday to mourn Sgt. Thomas Baitinger and Officer Jeffrey Yaslowitz, who were shot and killed by a fugitive while helping serve a warrant on Monday. The officers' families were also in attendance.
The fugitive, Hydra Lacy, died during the shootout.
St. Petersburg Mayor Bill Foster, along with Police Chief Chuck Harmon spoke at the service, along with several friends of the two men.
Harmon said he is angry about the incident and said Lacy "got off too easily."
