ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) -- Authorities say a man died after a scuffle with police officers outside a movie theater at Universal CityWalk in Orlando.

Universal Studios security called Orlando police early Friday when the man started acting irrationally.

Police say the man, whom wesh.com identified as 33-year-old Adam Spencer Johnson, resisted violently. An officer used a Taser on the man and he was handcuffed, according to wesh.com.

"The behavior was irrational. The person needed help, and we were there to get them help," Orlando Police Department Sgt. Barb Jones told wesh.com.

Officials say the man then became unresponsive and officers attempted to revive him.

He was taken to Dr. Phillips Hospital, where he died.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating the incident.
