Tampa toddler drowns in 5-gallon bucket, police say

Parents: Child was out of sight for 10 minutes

TAMPA, Fla. - Tampa Police say a toddler drowned Sunday afternoon in a 5-gallon bucket in the family garage.

According to the report, the 1-year-old, Mujeeb Bouazizi, was out of his parents' eyesight for approximately 10 minutes. When he was found in the family garage, he was upside down in a 5-gallon bucket, which contained five inches of a mixture of a cleaning solution and water.

The family called 911 because the child was unresponsive, and police who arrived on the scene administered CPR. The child was taken to University Community Hospital-Fletcher where he was pronounced dead.

Homicide detectives were called to the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
