Tampa man Alay Sosa Morales arrested after traveling with 54.6 pounds of marijuana, detectives say

BONITA SPRINGS, Fla. - Over 54 pounds of marijuana was seized during a traffic stop in Lee County Friday night, WBBH reports.

A Lee County Sheriff's Office detective pulled over a 2002 Ford Explorer in a traffic stop, when he noticed five large, vacuum-sealed garbage bags in the vehicle that contained 54.6 pounds of marijuana.

The driver, 30-year-old Alay Sosa Morales, was traveling from Tampa to Miami with the marijuana, which had an estimated street value of $220,000, according to reports.
