TAMPA, Fla. -- A woman died after her vehicle flipped in a fatal Tampa car wreck Monday morning, but a six-month-old baby girl inside the car survived.
The crash happened eastbound on SR 60 east of South Ware Boulevard about 6:30 a.m.
The unidentified victim was driving eastbound when for unknown reasons, she lost control of the car and traveled onto the south shoulder of the roadway.
The vehicle flipped several times, the woman was ejected from the car and the vehicle landed on top of her, trapping underneath.
The woman died at the scene.
The baby who was inside the vehicle was properly positioned in the center read seat in a child seat.
The baby was taken to Tampa General hospital in good condition.
The deceased's identity will be released once next of kin has been notified.
