IMMOKALEE, Fla. -A 21-year-old Immokalee man is accused of hitting a boy and causing his skull to swell and bleed when he attempted to take a soccer ball from the child, said Collier County Sheriff’s deputies.

Alan Lopez-Salazar is facing charges of child abuse without great harm Saturday after he went from his trailer and met up with children playing with a soccer ball in their backyard. He approached them and tried to take the ball away, according to witnesses.

Lopez-Salazar is accused of grabbing the child, whose age was not released, then putting his leg behind the victim’s legs and pushing him to ground, causing the child’s legs to go up in the air, then fall and where he eventually hit his head on the pavement, according to deputies.

Bond for Lopez-Salazar was set at $10,000.
