A small plane landed on an access road just off U.S. 27 in western Broward Wednesday morning, the Broward Sheriff's Office said.
Deputies were called to the scene just south of U.S. 27 about 10 a.m., said Keyla Concepcion, a spokeswoman for the Sheriff's Office.
The pilot told deputies he conducted a forced landing after the aircraft experienced a mechanical issue.
He was not hurt and did not require medical assistance at the scene.
"He's happy to be alive," Concepcion said.
There was no fluid leak or hazardous materials involved after the landing, officials said.
Motorists on U.S. 27 may experience delays through the scene.
