Newt Gingrich making heat in Florida, makes campaign stop in Coral Springs

CORAL SPRINGS, Fla. — In his quest to secure the GOP presidential nomination, Newt Gingrich made a pit-stop in Coral Springs on Wednesday - in between visits in Miami and Brevard County. The former speaker of the House spent his time focusing on President Barack Obama, not his three Republican competitors.

Gingrich says he will be a "paycheck president," not the "food stamp president" he says Obama has become.

He went on to criticize Obama's State of the Union address, calling it an "outline of divisiveness, a year of getting nothing done."

Gingrich's words rallied the crowd, but through the microphone a lone voice criticized the presidential hopeful.

A woman attacked Gingrich saying he was for Freddie Mac, not for the people.

 

"This is a free country and people can come and be noisy, it's part of the American tradition. We're not going to let her interrupt our national conversation," Gingrich responded.

Gingrich was back on his bus within an hour, headed for Cocoa, Florida.
