OAKLAND PARK. Fla. -- The Broward Sheriff's Office is revealing a little more information about the 17-year-old boy who was found lying bloody and naked on the street in Oakland Park on Sunday.
The Tamarac resident was discovered around 2:30 a.m. in the 5800 block of Dixie Highway. He was "rolling on the ground" and "pulling at" several lacerations on his torso while yelling "bad drugs" and "take me," according to the investigative report.
Oakland Park Fire Rescue took him to Broward Health North hospital, where he was put on life support. He had a collapsed lung, fractured left ankle and broken left collarbone in addition to cuts on his chest and neck, the report stated.
A doctor told investigators the injuries were not self-inflicted and that the teen probably was hit by a car. His parents were notified later Sunday morning, according to sheriff's spokeswoman Dani Moschella.
A pair of boxers, khaki shorts and a shoe were found in the bushes near where the teenager was lying, she said.
It remains unclear what the teen was doing on Dixie Highway. The case is still under investigation and the search for witnesses continues.
Investigators are urging anyone with information to call Broward Crimestoppers at 954-493-8477.
