MIAMI (AP) -- A 49-year-old man died after he fell while he tried to kill swarming bees in his family's longtime home.
Officials say the cause of death won't be known until an autopsy is completed. But Donald Mason's brothers told The Miami Herald ( http://bit.ly/tB8EXC ) on Sunday that he fell from a chair and hit his head. Mason's teenage daughter found him covered in bees Saturday night.
The Herald reports the man was apparently trying to spray the bee hive, which was located inside a hole in the wall he was trying to patch.
Miami police spokesman Delrish Moss says officers hear a humming noise that sounded like the "the walls were alive" when they responded to a call Saturday night.
Mason's great-grandfather built the house in Little Havana in the 1920s.
