AKRON, Ohio (AP) -- LeBron James is back in his northeast Ohio hometown where he'll be honored Sunday.

Akron Mayor Don Plusquellic (pluhs-KWEHL'-ihk) will pay tribute to James during the Akron Aeros minor league baseball game Sunday afternoon.

James is coming home to Akron with a gold medal from the Olympics and his first NBA title that he won with the Miami Heat.

The Akron Beacon Journal (bit.ly/Nd0TfC) reports that after the game James will meet with about 500 children and their families to start the new school year for the James Family Foundation's Wheels for Education program.

The program aims to help third-graders succeed in school.

The foundation in the past has donated computers for students to use in class and after school programs.
