McDonald's manager hit in ribs with bat after robber demands food, police say

LAKELAND, Fla. -- A manager at a Lakeland McDonald’s was assaulted with a bat by a robber demanding food Sunday night, according to a Lakeland Police report.

Witnesses told authorities that the suspect entered the McDonald’s, located at 715 E. Memorial Boulevard at 10:30 p.m.

The robber jumped over the counter and demanded food.

At some point during the incident, the unidentified manager was struck in the ribs with a baseball bat.

The manager was taken to Lakeland Regional Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

No arrests have been made in the attack and the investigation is ongoing.
