Margate Police Officer Paul Lindeman busted by red-light camera

But that didn't stop one from blowing through a red light just after midnight on his way to a call as back-up to a "disturbance which appeared to be non-violent in nature," according to records released Wednesday. The officer did not have his emergency lights on. The officer already on scene had not requested immediate assistance.

Margate Police Officer Paul Lindeman, 32, received a letter of counseling for running the red light at West Atlantic Boulevard and State Road 7. Lindeman, an officer with Margate since 2003, could not be reached for comment.

Four red-light cameras were activated in Margate in October.
