LAND O' LAKES, Fla. - A man is dead after his parachute did not deploy during a jump from a biplane, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.
PCSO spokesperson Melanie Snow says emergency crews are investigating the man's death in the area of Wesley Chapel Boulevard and Grand Oaks Boulevard in Land O' Lakes.
Investigators say the malfunction happened as the man was performing a maneuver near the Topp of Tampa Airport.
The pilot was able to safely land the plane after the parachutist's failed jump.
The FAA and NTSB have been notified to investigate.
